Our New Family
We are a retired couple who have had dogs all our lives and thought we would never have any more pets. How wrong we could be.
Early one morning I discovered what had been tearing our bin bags apart and sprawling the contents over the drive for the past week, a family of four cats. A mum and her three kittens. They were very young including mum. Obviously as soon as they heard me they scarpered. We began to leave bowls of water and some dried food for them. Slowly but surely they came back to eat the food, leaving my bin bags intact.
Over the past few weeks they have become more friendly and now, every morning they are waiting at the kitchen door for breakfast, and as soon as they hear the rattling of food in the box at night they appear like magic.
Mum looked after her kittens well. grooming them constantly and allowing them to suckle after she had been fed.
Mum, who we have called Molly is now very friendly loves to be stroked, and brushes herself up to us, but the kittens are still very timid and nervous, they only allow us to stroke them whilst they are feeding. They never wonder far away from the house these days, sleeping in the full heat of the sun under the pergola or in the outside kitchen, where ever there is shade. The kittens no longer suckle from mum and they have filled out. In the cool of the evening they are never far from us whilst we sit outside. They are close by playing with the range of toys we have accumulated for them. It is a pleasure to watch them
With the help from the charity Mamas we have had Mum and the kittens Spayed and neutered. It was a shock to hear that mum was only a little over a year old herself. We would like to thank Mamas for all the support they have given us in looking after our new family. In turn we now hope to help support them in the future in any positive manner that we can. We would also like to thank the veterinary practice in Mazarron. They were very kind and very helpful.

Firstly I would like to thank you so much for the help with my neighbours vet bill for her dog. She still can not believe that she was helped by people who she doesn't know. She has told the whole neighbourhood about your shop and daily I find bags of oranges and lemons in my terrace.
Thank you also for the vouchers for the kittens, the charities will not take them and help me re home them without the vaccinations and blood tests so I am really grateful for the help.

Just before Christmas I contacted you for some help in getting a stray female kitten spayed so we were able to keep her, and you very kindly helped towards the cost of this. I just wanted to say thank you so much, she went through the operation with no problems and despite being very timid she's part of the family now and is getting braver and more friendly every day.
You offer such an important service, I can't thank you enough for your help and if we are able to dontate to you in the future then we certainly will, in the knowledge that the money will go towards such important and helpful work.
Thank you again for your help and I wish everyone involved in this charity every success.

Due to ill health I have had to return to England. MAMAs have been great at helping to clear out my house and provide me with a little money with their 50/50 deal. Well done MAMAs for the help you give in so many different ways.
